Since I’m still working on this week’s project, I thought I’d post an assignment from last term. This is the rough pencil sketch of a turnaround for a creature I created by merging two different creatures together. In this case, a cat and an American Kestrel. If you’re thinking “griffon”, yes, there’s some similarity. Only instead of a lion, I used a house cat and instead of an eagle, I used an American Kestrel. Size-wise, they are to a griffon what a sparrow is to a bald eagle. An average adult man could hold one in one hand.
I’m fond of this little critter, so you’re likely to see him again.
