  1. Excellent to see this out. I have just sent in my order.

    Good luck!

    • @ Sean. Thanks for the comment and the order. Sales have been pretty good so far, especially considering it’s my first book.

  2. Hi Jade

since seeing this on John Four’s regular email I’ve taken time to look into this and your website, loved the article on adventure writing. I’m tempted to get this, but can you tell me what more it has that those prior articles don’t already contain? Not being funny, but just wanted to know if there was more to gain.

I’m a uk based player so its good to read of stuff we can buy and use over here 😉

    • @Arbanax — You’ve got a very legitimate question. Thanks for taking the time to ask.

The articles are only small selections of the books contents. In the book, I go into much more detail about ways to come up with your own game ideas, of which the idea map is only one. (the book has an entire chapter devoted to that issue). The book also describes various player types and how to use them to make sure there’s something for everyone. I also include a worksheet to help you keep track of the adventure creation process, with detailed descriptions of how to use it.

The book also discusses plot archetypes and how you can use them to your advantage. It devotes an entire chapter to taking your adventure idea and translating it into the actual events that make up the adventure. The final chapter of the book (not counting the appendices) discusses the actual writing of the adventure, from start to finish (covering what your adventure should include in each section–the beginning, the middle, and the end).

Finally, it includes several appendices, including advice on running your newly written adventure, how to use this method with adventure seeds, and the worksheets mentioned above.

The book also has a 90-day money-back guarantee. I don’t want to sound like an infomercial (“But wait! There’s more…” 😉 ), but if you do buy it and decide there’s not enough material beyond what’s been published on my site, I’ll refund your money, no questions asked.

  3. Hi Jade

got your email thanks very much for the detailed reply and for taking the chance to offer people no quibble refunds. Which is very good of you. Will take time to look over your comments and hope to purchase something soon.

    Thanks again

    • @ Wreidek — You’re not being thick, you just landed on the wrong page. This was the pre-release announcement post. Because you looked for a purchase link here, means someone surely will, as well (if they haven’t already). I’ve updated this post to included a link to the product page where you can purchase a copy.
