Everway is one of those games I have always wanted to play but have never had the chance to. The concepts all seem like a lot of fun and the art for inspiration is quite good. I did create a character once for an online game but the game did not end up being played.

I have always liked at heart Everway, but any attempts to sell players on the game has run aground rather quickly. Something about it seems to turn sour for gamers when they look at the game. Part of it may be exactly what appeals to me, the fact that there isn't much game there. Part of it may be a sense that it seems new-agey on the surface. But I think it's also the fact that it's pretty counter to the tradition of RPGs as systems-heavy that goes back to D&D. Or maybe I just stink at selling the system to others...

I'd love a copy of Everway now. Here in the UK they were sold for just £2 each and I picked up a load of them to give to my friends - and forgot to save one for myself. Bummer.

Time to trawl eBay again, I guess :D

I loved playing this game. Only did it a few times. I think the GM really has to be on top of his or her game to run it well though.
