Congratulations to Paul and thanks to Jade for asking the question!

I don't understand edition wars. I understand likes and dislikes. However every RPG offers new ideas and new mechanics. I've bought many a game just to read the rules. Choice is good, ideas are good. Take from the experience what works for you.

Its easy, imo, to be turned off from a different system just by glancing over it or hearing about it, especially one similar to what you already play (a new edition or a game with similar mechanics in the same genre). An initial reaction like that plays into our psyche on a number of levels that are outside of the basic question "is it fun to play or not?" Which you can really only find out by playing. It's like food. Reading about say menudo might make you cringe a bit (cow stomach soup? ewww) but trying it is the only way to know what it actually tastes like (delicious).

Congrats to Paul, and Jade, you know what helps a foggy brain? Tequila. Lots of tequila. :)
